“Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” is a sequel to “Cats & Dogs,” a movie that was released nine years ago. Considering how bad the follow-up film is, they should have waited another nine — or 90 — years.

Cats, dogs score some laughs in Bond-inspired ‘Kitty Galore’

Dogs and cats, living together? Mass hysteria, right? Maybe not so much. Canines and felines were resourceful and well-equipped enemies in the original “Cats & Dogs” from 2001. Now they’re forced to band together to fight a common foe in the sequel “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.”

‘Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore,’ 3 stars

‘Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore’ Surprisingly good story of secret agent dogs and cats working together to save the world from a nefarious plan hatched by an evil feline. It’s like a decent James Bond movie acted out by dogs and cats (and Roger Moore is on hand, in a nice touch). Voice talent includes James Marsden, Nick Nolte and Christina Applegate. (PG – 82 minutes.)

Although critter movies have performed extremely well at the box office, “Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” will put that trend to a tough test when it opens on Friday.
